Supporting Montreat

As Montreat Conference Center looks to the future, we are continually challenged to meet the fundraising goals that make this vibrant ministry possible. We do this through the Montreat Endowment and the Montreat Fund.

Why does Montreat need your financial support? Here are two amazing facts to consider:

  • Montreat receives NO FUNDING from the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
  • Last year only 59 churches of the 1500+ church groups who visited Montreat contributed to the Montreat Fund.

Montreat Fund

The Montreat Fund continues to be our #1 fundraising priority, and this year we must raise $740,000 to maintain the life-changing ministry Montreat provides. We continue to increase our unrestricted Montreat Fund goal each year in order to replace the absence of any General Assembly support and to ensure that Montreat’s conferences and facilities are of the highest caliber and affordable for all.

If you are a “Patron” of Montreat Conference Center who gives annually, thank you for your continued support. If you are not a Patron, please ask yourself “why not?” We need your help to meet this year’s Montreat Fund goal of $740,000.

Endowment

In June of 2007, the Montreat Endowment exceeded its goal of $20 million. Counting current gifts, pledges, and deferred gifts, Montreat Conference Center’s endowment has surpassed $22 million. Considering Montreat’s endowment was just over $2 million only 3 years ago, this is a tremendous accomplishment.

Church Communication & Outreach

Over 1,500 churches send groups to the conference center every year for conferences and retreats. Our Church Communication and Outreach program keeps constituent churches and presbyteries in constant conversation with the conference center, allowing us to better serve their needs. If you love Montreat and want to share your enthusiasm with others, consider becoming a Montreat Bridge or hosting a Montreat Sunday at your church. Presbytery executives are also invited to participate in a retreat to learn more about the conference center and share the needs and concerns of their presbyteries.

Volunteer Opportunities

In addition, during the busy summer season, over 300 volunteers help the Montreat staff and guests. Many of them continue to offer their valuable services year-round. Our volunteers are a vital part of the continued success of the conference center.
