$1Million Needs to Be Matched
Data supports the statement that ministries such as that of the Montreat Conference Center provide the Church with the leaders of today and tomorrow. A recent Presbyterian Panel Survey showed that 70% of elders and 90% of pastors could point to one significant spiritual experience that had influenced their lives, and most often that happened at a camp or conference center.
The Morgan Foundation has made a $1 million challenge gift to support Montreat Conference Center’s Youth Conferences. This magnificent gift follows an earlier $250,000 challenge gift which, when matched, resulted in a one million dollar endowment. Now, by matching the current challenge, the Conference Center will have a $3 million endowment to support its outstanding program which benefits over 7,500 youth annually.
The funds generated each year by the Morgan Endowment for Youth will be used to:
- provide scholarships to ensure cost is not an obstacle to anyone who wishes to attend a Youth Conference;
- provide financial resources to recruit the highest caliber of leadership for future conference events;
- support program development to help Montreat to stay on the “cutting edge” of the latest trends in youth and young adult ministry.
