Supporting Montreat
Partners in Minstry
With the caring support of many, Montreat’s financial turnaround is continuing. We are grateful for last fiscal year’s contributions of $141,149 from 59 churches as our Partners in Ministry. In addition, we raised a record $217,000 from individual donors during the month of April. This extraordinary response enabled the Montreat Fund to exceed its goal at fiscal year-end on April 30, 2010. Add this surplus to the efforts of Montreat staff to reduce expenses and the Conference Center met budget for the 7th straight year.
We rejoice at this success, but we continue to strive toward our goal of $1 million annually to support our Montreat Fund. This fiscal year, which runs from May 1, 2010, to April 30, 2011, our goal for the Montreat Fund is $740,000. To reach that goal and move Montreat’s ministry into the future, the direct financial support of churches and presbyteries is crucial.
Because lodging and conference fees cover only a portion of the $6.8 million needed to operate the conference center, the Montreat Fund must provide about 11% of operating funds for Montreat to meets its budget.
